Are you interested in collaborating within a research project on urban-rural linkages in China? 

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will support the research team in the BMBF-funded project “Urban-Rural Assembly (URA)” with e.g. mapping and drawing tasks addressing the multi-scalar analysis of socio-spatial urbanisation patterns in the case study region of Taizhou-Huangyan in Zhejiang Province, China; the research of literature and the preparation and evaluation of field interviews. Furthermore, you will support the organisation and management of the research project, especially in the field of public relations (e.g. conference and workshop organisation, graphic design, website maintenance). 

ABOUT US
The Habitat Unit (Department for International Urbanism and Design) is a globally networked research and teaching centre developing new approaches, expertise and application-oriented tools relevant for global urbanisation and urban change processes. It is committed to an inclusive and rights based approach to urban policy, urban management as well as development-oriented and actor-driven planning. Based at the Institute of Architecture at the TU Berlin, the Habitat Unit promotes an extended understanding of urban and architectural design, which integrates spatial, material and cultural sensitivities with new models of participation, co-production and urban governance. WHAT WE EXPECT 
We are looking for a highly motivated and well-structured student with interest in the teaching and research topics of Habitat Unit, willing to work in an interdisciplinary research team. We expect high proficiency in English and good skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Experiences in working with GIS-data and/ or Chinese language skills will be an advantage, but are not necessarily required. Applicants can study architecture, urban design, urban management, town and regional planning, geography, urban sociology, graphic design and/ or related fields at TU Berlin or any other Berlin based universities.

WORKING TIME 
December 2020 – November 2022 (40 h / month)
