URBAN–RURAL CO-VISIONING: HOW TO SHAPE REGIONAL FUTURES TOGETHER is a dynamic and visually engaging short film emerging from the Urban Rural Assembly research project. Using footage from two contrasting yet similar regions — Huangyan, China and Nordhausen, Germany — the film introduces a five-step approach to co-visioning sustainable regional futures.

Blending video collages, animated graphics, maps, and interviews with local stakeholders and project collaborators, the film serves as a practical, globally adaptable guide for practitioners, academics, and administrators. Each step of the co-visioning process is illustrated with real-world examples, offering viewers both inspiration and a clear methodology for initiating their own collaborations at the urban-rural interface.

With its international perspective and grounded methodology, the film encourages new dialogues between urban and rural areas, positioning co-visioning not just as a technique, but as a vital framework for shared regional development in a rapidly changing world.
