Research Visit to Organic Farms in Beiyang Town, Huangyan

On October 19th 2019, URA researchers visited two farms in the Huangyan district whose owners are implementing organic farming techniques. Mr Tao, the owner of the vegetable farm SeeHer, guided the researchers around the productive, storing and recycling components of the farm, introducing their business model and production techniques. Additionally, the URA team visited several wild rice shoot farms nearby to increase their understanding. The URA researchers had a productive meeting with farm owners regarding innovation gaps and opportunities for collaboration throughout the R&D phase, learning about their approach to fertilisation, waste management and composting potentials, funding structures and production chains.
