Urban-Rural Assembly Symposium & “Raumbild” Planning Workshops in Huangyan

From August 31 to September 2, the URA team will be hosting Raumbild workshop series in Huangyan. 

 

Event 1: Urban-Rural Assembly Symposium and Raumbild Planning Workshop

Event 2: Raumbild Focus Workshop in Beiyang Town (URLL#1)

Location: Qian Jiang Village Committee, Beiyang Town, Huangyan District, Taizhou City

Date/Time: 1 September, Friday, 14:30-17:30

 

Event 3: Raumbild Focus Workshop in Xinqian Sub-District (URLL#2)

Location: Xi Fan Village Committee, Xinqian Sub-District, Huangyan District, Taizhou City

Date/Time: 2 September, Saturday, 14:30-17:30

 

This three-day workshop event is organized by the Urban-Rural Assembly project team and its partners, including the Technical University of Berlin, Bauhaus University of Weimar, Leibniz Institute for Ecological Urban Development, Forward Planning and Research, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai University, UN-Habitat, and ICLEI. The events are supported by Huangyan District Government.

 

The main objectives of the symposium and workshop are to emphasize the significance of urban-rural relations for regional development based on the interdisciplinary URA research results, to introduce the Raumbild approach to regional stakeholders using the Norhausen planning process (video documentation) as a referenceto discuss and further develop the Raumbild plans for the Huangyan region, to incorporate local knowledge, demands, and ideas from a diverse range of stakeholders, and to test the participatory Raumbild planning methods within the context of Chinese regional governance.

 

In addition to the three-day workshop event, the project team will also organize several side events. These include a workshop on social-spatial space and migration, scheduled for 29-30 August at Tongji University, Shanghai. Moreover, there will be technical tours to various cultural and ecological sites, including Budaikeng Village, Dayou Temple, Huangyan Museum and Jianhu Lake Wetland Park.
